Liking the site, plenty of Weller influenced bands popping up now since that NME God Like Genius Award. I'm digging that new band The Moons, Weller played on their single - sounded top.
They're playing at HMV Oxford Street London on Monday 15th March at 5pm, doubt Weller will be there though

Subject:Why is he so good

I was 13 in 1977, when i first heard In The City, it was fucking great, before that it was Abba and Disco, and Michael Jackson, so for a group of young kids it was all we needed.
Over the years he just got better and better, i joined the Army, he split the Jam, bad times, however now looking at it, he could of lobed out hit singles for years to come, i saw the Jam in Southend, and they blew the place away, saw the Style council a few times in Germany when he was on tour. I must say he is better by himself, i have lost count how many times ive seen him, i even got my wife to go to see him in Newcastle, and shes a rockers, she now loves him, and named our dog WELLER, how cool is that. So he is the man, a generation of kids wearing Ben Shermans and good shoes, still today i dress the same, sad or is that called being a MOD, i think so.
Thats why he sso good, he slasted so long, because of that. Rock on Weller.

Subject:Desert Island Discs

I was so glad to find that you had made the show available on your site, it was a really good listen, I didn't know that it had been on until I heard Kirsty Young on the radio this morning. Clearly she was taken with Paul and his choice in music. I'm not sure that it would have been possible to guess what his desert island discs and apart from a couple I'm sure if you asked him again a few might change on a daily basis (as do our all), but it was fascinating.

Thanks and congratulations on a great site - what was he doing with that Giant Guitar?

Subject:town called malice

Have lived in a Town Called Malice since 1982, my wife once saw Paul Weller staring at guitars in the window of Britten's music shop at West Byfleet, and we also sat in the row in front of him, his partner, dad and mum at a play about Sid James and Barbara Windsor at the local theatre. I don't think Woking has honoured its most famous son enough, but it will, in time

Subject:The Jam show last night, 1/25/08.

Though I can now contently pass on when God calls me, as I now have seen all members of the Jam in person, I have to say that I may have preferred to have videos of The Jam, (with Paul Weller), big-screened on the back wall at the HOB in Anaheim, CA, as compared to the show I saw last night. Yes it was cool to stand 10 feet away from Bruce and see him jump around. Yes it was great to sing along with all the songs played by the band, and see Rick. They were struggling to stay in tune, their tempo was inconsistent, (and not on purpose...) just sloppy, sloppy, sloppy. And kudos to the lead singer, as he had to sing Jam songs and do so, knowing he could not and can not, ever, fill Paul Weller's shoes. As I give it to the guy for even showing up, I feel that they could have gotten someone better. They probably could go to the right kareoke club, and I am sure they could find someone who sings better. Again, no one would ever be able to fill Paul's shoes, but still, they can find someone better... I'm not being harsh. I am being real. Not like I know him, personally, but I'd bet Paul would never join up with them. Ever. Bruce and Rick have their nitch, as there will be a demand, and I guess I can understand the want or need to see them, if one get's the chance... I guess. I mean, they are having fun, and are, you know, playing music, and being entreprenuers...making money... Sort of like Beatlemania, or Wild Child in the US. Tribute bands, but in this case, two of the members are original members. Paul obviously is an artist. I can't imagine him ever worrying about money, as his passion appears to be art and music, not money. (I say "appears to be" as, again, I don't personally know him. Ironically, if you follow your passion, money typically follows...) It was a sloppy punk show. If one intends to go to a show, I recommend that they make sure to get their beer on, (if one is into that), in order to help tolerate the show. It wasn't bad, but to even say, "It wasn't bad"... I would think one would get my drift...
